  4. @3Traveller@1 was the first SF role playing game published in 1976 as three black
  5. A5 books (I think it was 76). It used just two d6 for all mechanics abnd was a
  6. structured and clean HARD SF game.

  8. It developed SF adventuring in a far future space empire called the Imperium
  9. which, although thousands of years from now, always fwelt like 1950's science
  10. fiction with chunky computers the size of whole rooms and the feel of Asimov
  11. and Clarke.

  13. Later @3Traveller@1 was revamped and relanched as Mega@3Traveller@1, which was a more
  14. consistent but flawed system (puzzle that one out) and recently has been
  15. re-issued again as @3Traveller@1 The New Era (TNE). Each new edition saw further
  16. collapses in the stable society of the Imperium. In TNE all civilisation has
  17. fully collapsed.

  19. Traveller is in all it's forms a hard, military SF rpg, with no Star Wars fancy
  20. or Jorune weirdness. It is a game to play Alien, Aliens, Asimov, Clarke and all
  21. the classsics of the Golden Age of SF. It is an integral part of rpg history
  22. and with TNE it should be part of the future.
